 Time to celebrate: From free fireworks to festive feasts, Noosa serves up a wonderful choice of ways to bring in the New Year this Saturday night. For a full guide, see our Festive Season Guide at www.visitnoosa.com.au. Noosa Marina, Tewantin has free fireworks at 9pm and midnight, with live music from Matt Harris Trio.

Live music: Sunshine Beach Surf Club has The Vibe playing on the deck from 3pm on New Year’s Day. See Meridian at Tewantin-Noosa RSL Club on Friday December 30 at 8pm, and Marty Hurst performs on Thursday January 5 at 7pm. Crooked Still from the USA are at Joe’s Waterhole Eumundi on Thursday January 5 – tickets $24.50 or $25 at the door. On Friday, Noosa Yacht & Rowing Club has Raspberry Fields from 7.30pm, and again on New Year’s Day from 2.30pm. The Great Sandy Bar & Restaurant, Noosa North Shore Retreat has Chad Shuttleworth on Friday.

Up-lifting: See the movie Up at Eumundi’s summer markets on Friday December 31 at 6.30pm. The markets also feature plenty of food and live music. 

 

Discover Noosa’s natural beauty: In between New Year festivities, take time to explore the beauty that surrounds us with one of Noosa’s many professional tour and activity operators, or just take yourself off to a beach from Coolum in the south to Noosa North shore, head for the hinterland and look around the country towns, or walk along the Noosa River foreshore. Take a tour to the Everglades, hire a kayak and explore the river system, join a guided walk of the Noosa National Park tracks, enjoy the panoramic view from Mt Tinbeerwah lookout in Tewantin National Park, join a fishing or boating tour or just hire a boat and take your time, hire a bike, hop on a ferry at stops along Noosa River - especially for a sunset cruise, or learn something new - try surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, kite-surfing or horse riding.
